Welcome Aboard:

My name is John E. Freeman. I was onboard the Cochrane from 09/83 to 11/85 home ported in Yokosuka, Japan. My highest rate was MM2 and I was the supervisor of number 2 engine room (EM02). I stood Top Watch underway and was the Top Watch member of the ECCET team. I was also on the USS Dixie AD-14 from 80 to 81,  USS Buchanan DDG-14 from 11/81 to 09/83. I am a member of the USS Buchanan Association and Tin Can Sailors.

I started this site because I could not find one for the Cochrane  anywhere on the web. I thought that she deserved a site of her own and I wanted to find some old shipmates anyway. I have had a very good response  to the site and the crew list database is growing almost daily. I guess I can't quit now so here is a much needed update to the site. I have had many contributions to the site but need more. If you have any info or pictures on the USS Cochrane DDG-21 please contact me. My Cruise Books were stolen from me while I was in Japan so I don't have much information to refresh my memory.
